Cherry Blossom cards (Uniquely Creative)

Hello everyone, welcome to another blog post!

Today I've got some gorgeous cards using the Uniquely Creative Cherry Blossom stamp and die set which I absolutely love! See how I've made two cards using a fairly similar design that turn out so differently!

I hope you've had a chance to read my previous post in which I introduced Uniquely Creative to you all! It's been a blast to receive a whole bunch of stamps (I took advantage of this time to purchase quite a few sets!) and create some new cards.

I've got two cards using the gorgeous Cherry Blossom set which I immediately fell in love with. I've started out with a similar base idea for both these cards, but they both ended up so different!

I started this card by stamping the large Cherry Blossom bloom in Iced Spruce ink from Ranger multiple times onto white cardstock to create a background.
I then stamped the small blossom bunch onto a separate piece of paper using the light grey ink, and coloured it in using my Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. I used two shades of green, two shades of yellow, two shades of brown and four shades of pink for the colours. Once that was all done, I also die-cut it out with the corresponding die.

Next, I cut out a vellum circle using my Kaiser Craft scalloped circle die for a soft barrier between the base of the card and the floral bunch. I also stamped the sentiment (included in the stamp set) onto silver grey cardstock and embossed it using Ranger Ink's Pink embossing powder, and cut the strip down to size.

To put this card together, I layered pink cardstock onto a white card base, and then added the pre-stamped background. I placed the cherry blossom bunch onto the scalloped vellum circle using glue dots, and then layered that and the sentiment strip using foam tape. Lastly, I added some light Nuvo Drops in the Shimmering Rose shade to finish it off. This drop has a crystal shine to it which is absolutely gorgeous!

For this next card, I stamped the large floral image using Memento Jet Black ink on a piece of white cardstock numerous times. I then took some pink ink from Ranger (Worn Lipstick) and blended the cardstock to that lovely light pink shade. I then took my Kaiser Craft circle die and die-cut the center of the card. I put that piece aside to hopefully be used at a later time!

Next, I watercoloured the blossom bunch using my Nuvo Aqua flow watercolour pens (going from light to dark) and once that was dry I die-cut it out.

Uniquely Creative also produces some cut-apart sheets, and corresponding dies to go along with them. I took the Cut-Apart Die #4 (available in the upcoming October release!) and used it to just die-cut some blank white sentiment strips. These are thinner and smaller strips than the other banner die-cuts I have (previously, if I need a strip this small, I'd just cut it by hand) and it's going to be super helpful in the future! I carefully stamped the 'miss you' sentiment from a Clearly Besotted onto the strip.

To put this card together, I layered the background and the floral bunch using foam tape, and then slid the sentiment strip just underneath the background. I also added some accents using pastel confetti from Studio Katia - I love this style of embellishment, and the colours compliment beautifully!

That's it for today everyone! I hope you enjoy and let me know what you like about these cards. I'm super loving how these turned out and I love how these designs both highlight the small floral bunch in different ways, and really draw your eye to the colours.

Until next time,
Shana xx
