Winter Snowflakes in Spring (Technique Tuesday)

Hello everyone, welcome back!

It's about time that the Christmas cards start being made and posted! Time has flown - it doesn't seem like it's yet time for Halloween, let alone Christmas! I've got a nice and quick Christmas card for you today, easy to create multiples of and have prepared for when the time comes. Let's take a look!

I know I've had a bit of a gap between my posts recently! It's gotten busy again, plus I also want to do things other than craft (*gasp!*) like read books (another hobby) and spend time with my partner (which is my favourite thing to do). However I still am making cards and posting things when I can so here's a nice easy Christmas card!

Happiness is a fire on a cold winter day... and hopefully this card will warm the heart of its recipient! Of course my Christmas is in the middle of Summer because that's how Australia works and I wouldn't have it any other way, but we can still dream of snow.

I pulled out an old stamp set from Technique Tuesday - Being Unique - which was created back in 2016 and is a great set for some encouragement year-round.

I started this simple card by stamping and embossing the snowflakes and sentiment in Stampendous Silver powder from the Embossing Basics set (the sentiment from the Holly stamp set).

Then I masked off the edges using Thermoweb's Purple Tape and blended some distress inks in blues - Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire.

Once the blending was finished, I carefully wiped over with a tissue before removing the purple tape. I do this because the purple tape always has ink on it, and sometimes as if I've added a bit too much ink to the page and it hasn't soaked in as much, the tissue will take off that excess and I won't get ink on my fingers. I don't want to ruin my project with ink marks everywhere - it has happened too many times!

To finish up, I cut the cardstock to be slightly smaller than the card base, and then layered with foam tape and this card was done.

I hope you are able to have enough cards for the holiday season this year! With the holiday season looking very different than how we normally celebrate, send a card to your loved ones to let then know you're with them in spirit.

Have a great day everyone! I hope you have a chance to relax and spend time doing the things you love.

Until next time,
Shana xx
